The idea of this failing because she mentions $1000+ shoes doesn't sit right with me.

Imo material things is never "cool" to sing about because people can't afford certain things especially if it's something crazy expensive and then it being repeated 500 times in our heads?... moreover I'm a GUY I mean I guess I can get the concept like "fuck it I'm leaving your ass I'm putting on my gear and heading to the club" I get that.. but when you even said rappers that was all I had to read she is not a rapper nor is she an r&b singer. lol

Your answer should've been no to your friend lol because realistically and at this present time with the economy and all (don't know where you live maybe Beverly Hills or something who knows lol) but in my neck of the woods nobody will save $1,000 for sum Louboutins.. that just keeping it real lol you said it right when you said people buy fake goods... because their cheap!

Can you imagine what my parents or friends would say if I blew off $1,000 on a pair of louboutins when the real world is busting their ass paying bills and rent.. I think they would literally beat my ass! haha I'm just saying.

I grew up with money and to be honest I was always raised to just buy what you like but not buy something for the label, but when I went to school in Massachusetts the majority of my friends were from New York. Some were from Brooklyn, the Bronx and so on and they were on scholarship and didn't have much money but they would save up and buy really expensive accessories like jlosman2nv mentioned, one of my friends had prada shoes another bought a huge over sized plasma flat screen that was way too big for his room, another payed like 400 for high tops. To me I feel like some places like Miami, LA, and New York put emphasis on material things and no matter what social class, you have to keep up somehow.

To be honest when I started hanging out with them and even when I moved back to Miami I start buying certain designer products just to amp my wardrobe especially that I now design clothes. It's sad but that how the world works.

And people don't buy knock offs cuz they're cheap, they buy it because it has the label and they too want to impress, or else they just buy a regular product.

Oh and by the way Jennifer is an R&B artist! Just saying...

I am a guy too and I also didn't appreciate that the song was geared to only women but I love the idea so much! I just sing "I'm throwin on my Louis Vuittons" lmao Cuz they have amazing high tops for men which Kanye is always sporting.

Oh and NOT ALL LOUBOUTINS COST 1000! lol The classics cost 500 and you can wait till they go on sale and get them for 250 like my friend did. Only the boots and really extravagant ones go for that much.
