Marc Anthony and Jennifer López scouting the island for a film-studio location The spotlight that has been turned on Puerto Rico's film industry through a growing list of big-budget Hollywood movies being shot locally will only get brighter if Marc Anthony and Jennifer López follow through on their plans to build a world-class film studio on the island. The entertainment-industry power couple has been scouting sites from Dorado to Luquillo and exploring financial alternatives for developing a major film studio that could be in the $50 million to $60 million range, according to sources. Anthony and López, both of Puerto Rican heritage, starred together in "El Cantante," a biopic of salsa legend Héctor Lavoe that was filmed on the island. Both are critically acclaimed actors and singers with pull in Hollywood. The star power of the couple would surely add luster to Puerto Rico.
