Jennifer Lopez has begun training for a triathlon just six months after giving birth to twins.
The actress appeared on a US television show in her workout gear as she told how she had been trying to get
fit.
'The idea came up when I was about eight months' pregnant when I was beached like a whale [with pregnancy],' she said.

'I was watching TV and I saw a triathlon, and I said, 'I think I could do that. 'That would be great for me to do. Maybe I could do that this
year. And of course everybody told me I was crazy.'
During her appearance on Good Morning America Lopez admitted that she was nervous about completing the course. And she had some advice for triathlon
hopefuls.
'You've got to start slow. You have to start little by little but just work up to it,' she said.
The star will take part in a charity triathlon in Malibu, California, on September 14.

'If I have to crawl across that finish line, I am going to,' she joked.
'I keep telling myself that when I'm training, "This is for charity. Your kids are going to know about this. Don't embarrass the family!
Get it done, Lopez!'"
'I feel like my stamina, I can get it up there if I work really hard.
'[But] the swimming is a killer, I'm not a natural.
'I'm always into challenging myself and seeing what I can do. It's really tiring but it's fun. It is hard, I'm not going to lie. But
when I'm done I feel great, I have more energy.'

On your bike: Lopez admits that she is nervous about completing the course
Lopez gave birth to twins Max and Emme in February.
'The babies are great, they're amazing. I hated leaving them this morning. "They're sleeping through the night. We're very lucky,'
she said.
The 39-year-old appeared alongside the editor of fitness magazine Self, who is helping the star to train for the event.
Lopez - who is married to singer Marc Anthony- revealed earlier this month that she decided to take on the challenge in order to make her children proud of
her.

'I thought, "What can I do to make my babies proud"' I think about what they'll think about the year they were born: who I was and
what I did,' she said.
'It's important to me to set examples for them. I want to lead with my life. I want to say,
'You should do this because I've done it, and I know it makes you a better person and it makes you feel great and sleep better and be
happier.'"
Triathlons involve running, cycling and swimming.

Some other celebs have also done this Triathlon in the past. Along with Jen maybe there will be some other celebs participating this year too.
Sometimes Hollywood stars enjoy a real challenge...
like a half-mile ocean swim, plus an 18-mile bike race, plus a four mile run!
The annual Nautica Malibu Triathlon is held each September at Zuma Beach in Malibu (usually on a on Sunday), and the beautiful weather attracts a wide range
of Tinseltown celebrities and world-class athletes to this typical "Baywatch" setting - including a few cast members from "Baywatch."
This year, the 22nd annual Nautica Malibu Triathlon will be held on Sunday, September 14, 2008.
Participating celebs in 2007 included David Duchovny ("The X-Files"), Jon Cryer ("Two and a Half
Men"). Eric Close ("Without a Trace"), William Russ ("Boy Meets World"), Ed Helms ("The Office"), Andy Lauer
("Caroline in the City") and a number of local TV news personalities.
In 2006, celeb participants included David Duchovny ("The X-Files"), Jon Cryer ("Two and a Half
Men"), Felicity Huffman ("Desperate Housewives"), Mark-Paul Gosselaar ("NYPD Blue"), David Conrad ("Ghost Whisperer"),

This is super special for Jen though because she's doing it 7 months after giving birth to twins and training for such a short time!
Today it was reported all day long in the pop news of several german radio stations that Jen's preparing for the Malibu triatlon in September.
Go, Jen!!
Me Neither! I tried to play Badmitton for an hour and a half... and now my back is sore. So lame! I have respect for anyone who trains for or finishes something like this.
XTERRA Saipan Championship age-group champion Manny
Sitchon will be leaving for Los Angeles this afternoon to compete in the Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles Triathlon, which will be held this Sunday.
Sitchon, who won in the 50-55 age group of the XTERRA Saipan early this year, will be participating in the Olympic-distance triathlon, which will cover a
1.5-kilometer swim leg, 40km bike, and 10km run.
The tournament will also have a sprint competition (750meter swim, 20km bike, 5km run), but Sitchon decided to go for the longer race.
"I am comfortable with the longer race and it is what I trained for," said Sitchon, who posted 28 minutes, 52 seconds in the 1.5km swim leg of the
XTERRA Saipan Championships, 02:54:52 in the 30km bike leg, and 1:43:51 in the 10m run to finish the race in 5:07:25.
Sitchon used to swim during lunch time off Susupe beach park every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday to prepare for the tournament in L.A. He had his run practice
three times a week, cruising along the Airport Road in the afternoon, and rode his bike on weekends.
"I am hoping to finish the race in L.A. injury free and with a decent time," Sitchon said.
The 52-year old triathlete decided to compete in L.A., his first triathlon event outside the CNMI instead of going to Maui, Hawaii for the 2008 XTERRA World
Championships to save money.
Sitchon earned a trip to Maui for winning in the 2008 XTERRA Saipan Championships, but could not make it to Hawaii despite hosting a fundraising race several
months ago to help defray the cost of his participation in the XTERRA World.
He, however, thanked those who joined the fundraiser, as money raised from the event will still be used for his trip to L.A.
This Sunday's races will have Hollywood actress Jennifer Lopez as its endorser. Lopez's triathlon activities are shown in promotional videos of
the races.
The swim leg of the race will be an L-shaped swim in the Pacific Ocean at Venice Beach.
Participants will swim perpendicular to the shore, west 150 meters, left turn, swim south for 630 meters, another left turn to the east for 50 meters (toward
the shoreline), then another left turn north for 570 meters and right turn to the shore for 100 meters. The start and the finish will be about 60 meters apart.
The bike course will start from Venice Blvd. then heads to Fairfax. The course goes up a slight incline on Fairfax to Wilshire. On Wilshire, bikers will go
through Museum Row and the Miracle Mile. The course turns onto Highland briefly then turns right on 6th St. at approximately the 10 mile mark. Participants
will cruise through the beautiful residential area of Hancock Park to Alvarado.
The run course will begin at Sunset Blvd. turnaround near Alexandria, heads back down Sunset Blvd. and merges with Sprint course at Alvarado. Both courses
continue down Sunset Blvd. to Beaudry.
So, they're using Jen to promote another triathlon?
