She calls him Papi.

Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony sound like any other old-married couple, not the most-famously hitched and unhitched celebs since Liz Taylor (8 marriages, 7 husbands) and Richard Burton (5 marriages, 4 wives). But in J-Lo time : 13-month marriage to Ojani Noa; 10-month marriage to Chris Judd and serial romances with Sean "P. Diddy" Combs and Ben Affleck : a year is an eternity.

Yes, the singer-actress-choreographer-fashion mogul-perfumer and professional diva and her salsa-superstar hubby are celebrating their first anniversary today, trumping those oddsmakers (and professional wags) who said it wouldn't last even a month.

Sure, they got married in a hail of tawdry publicity, six months after her breakup with Ben Affleck and four days after his divorce from former Miss Universe Dayanara Torres (whom he married twice). And sure, she said her I-Dos in a $7 million blur of Neil Lane diamonds and an endless round of she-must-be-pregnant rumors.

Truth be told, these newlyweds may be just plain old newlyweds, with the usual ups-and-downs (and better accessories). Her career is steaming : movies (even bad ones), records (even duds), fashion shows (universal raves). His is simmering : a mix of Latin Performer of the Year and professional homebody.

And those still searching for the perfect Paper Anniversary gift, may we suggest a shreader : for all those betting slips.

A portrait of domestic bliss?

It wasn't so long ago that the gossip pages groaned under the weight of the Bennifer Baubles. Ben Affleck gave her that infamous 6-carat pink diamond. She gave him a $160,000 Aston Martin. They sported $1 million worth of his-and-hers Chopard bracelets.

My, how times have changed. Or as much as they can when a diva who plays the store racks the way her ex-fiance played poker marries a guy whose idea of fun is mixing oil paints. Still, though she's moved into the 6-acre Brookville, Long Island spread that Marc shared with his first wife, Lopez has hardly turned into Jenny from the Burbs.

Jen : no Puffy-sized posse in sight : has been spotted at the upscale Americana Shopping center cruising everything from London Jewelers (for "user-friendly" diamonds) to Crate & Barrel (sporting a parka and Ugg boots) to Ralph Lauren (where a turquoise-studded belt can cost as much as a Versace dress).

Still, instead of dancing 'til dawn, Lola and Papi claim to coccoon with his (visiting) kids and her (resident) dogs. He paints (including, according to WWD, a rear-view nude of J-Lo that hangs in their LA home) and she tries (though, as she told David Letterman, everything somehow turns to gray). They even turn in early. "Before, people could call me at 2 or 3 in the morning and I didn't care," she told People this year. "But it's different now." Who's (suburban) life is this, anyway?

"Marc is a typical Latin male: controlling, demanding, possessive and not happy taking a back seat to his more famous wife," The Express of London quoted a pal as saying.

Really?

"She's the boss," a friend told The News last year. "He's blinded by love, and whatever she says goes."

And wherever she goes, he goes. In the last seven months, the newlyweds have traded houses the way she used to swap gems : a $12.5 million Beverly Hills manse for a $6.4 million Bel-Air villa; an $11 million Miami Beach spread for a $10 million penthouse down the road. But Brookville is home base, and Lopez's renovation work : she's reportedly adding a new wing : has only fanned the Jentony bump-watch. As she said earlier this year, "I can't wait to have kids."
