Im actually taking a 'Deviance' class in school, and we just talked about porn and prostitutes (fun stuff, j/k!). The madam runs the brothel, and
scouts around for customers ( who are actually middle-class or higher). Sometimes she's a former prostitute, but not once she starts running the brothel.
They hire and fire multiple girls every so often to keep their clientele 'interested and excited' ,and coming back.
