That seems like a different issue to me than the Beyonce thing.

It is totally different.. Jen isn't playing herself, it's for her character.

That seems like a different issue to me than the Beyonce thing. Jennifer takes roles that were originally written for a white female lead and instead of allowing her to play her own ethnicity in films, they keep the character's ethnicity 'white'. They almost refuse to just have her play a Hispanic person, even if race isn't the main issue in a film. So i guess the issue seems to be that they're aren't any good scripts for people of color or nobody writes stories about them or for them.

Seriously this kind of thing is so irritating. Not even worth it for this ad since Beyonce has been in MUCH better pictures and this one kind of sucks. But as someone who's mixed and my skins a lighter shade of black, it gets so frustrating. I'm too "white" for the "true blacks", but the whites think I'm an undercover black trying to pass as white. It is seriously outrageous.

People change their hair color all the time.....not skin color unless you are MJ, or in this case B. lol

well i dont see what the big deal is.....we can all still see that she IS a black woman from that picture she looks nothin like a white person in that picture....its not like she is tryna be white and denying that she is black like ur all making it sound. companys will do ANYTHING to make things sell as im sure is obvious to everybody. plus the focus is supposed to be on the hair!! nobody says jen is trying to be white when she goes blonde!!!! etc....and thats not a dig at jen before i get stoned by everyone for having an oppinion!! lol but its just an example

...I dont see the big deal about this either...Beyonce is a light skinned black woman, point blank...Face the facts, this is probably her TRUE skin color, I mean look at her mom, Tina is REALLY light skinned. And it is DEFINATELY obvious that in the first comparison picture Beyonce had been in the sun and got a tan or the make up on her had darkenend her skin.

White people don't go around saying how proud they are of their ancestors and their skin color, they don't need to!
What happened to black is beautiful? Halle Berry is light too, she's lighter than Beyonce, and they know better than lighten her skin to make her look white and she's half white, she'll put them in their place Quick!

If your so proud of who you are, wear your own hair and skin color, we don't have to look white to be beautiful!
My mom was dark skin and she was beautiful! I hate these kind of adds..

Of course there are more serious things going on in the world. It doesn't mean this issue can't be discussed.

Imo, I don't see how Loreal or anyone else can deny that her skin is obviously lighter in that Ad.

i dont think they've lightened her skin.....they have maybe adjusted the brightness and contrast of the whole picture to make the hair colour look more viberant....she is not the darkest skinned person and without makeup she is quite light. and that picture of her in the green is obv not her tru skin tone she has been tanned up...so she has been made to look darker there

i dont see what the big fuss is

nobody says anything when ads make white people look darker or put fake tan on them etc.......theres more serious things goin on in the world !!!!
